Looking for a little help creating a Gantt Chart? Use the Gantt Chart Wizard to end up with the chart you want. Before you start, you’ll need to add the Gantt Chart Wizard to the Project ribbon. Select File > Options > Customize Ribbon.
The Gantt Chart view is the most commonly used view in Project. It lists the tasks in your project, and illustrates their relationship to one another and the schedule using Gantt bars.
To communicate detailed task and schedule information to managers or other team members, you can create a Gantt chart in Visio that includes tasks, milestones, dependencies, timescales, and more.
Create a new Gantt Chart in Visio. On the Gantt Chart menu, click Import Data. On the first wizard page, click Information that's already stored in a file. On the next wizard page, under Select the format of your project data, click Microsoft Project File, and then click Next.
Choose Gantt Chart Format, and then select the Critical tasks checkbox. By default, Project shows only one critical path, the one that affects the project's finish date.
Make sure to format your data in a table or supported range. Ask Copilot to create the kind of chart you want. You can copy and paste one of the example prompts, or type something in your own words. Copilot generates a chart. Select +Add to a new sheet to add the generated chart into your workbook.
Select Task > Gantt Chart. Type the milestone name in the first empty row or pick a task you want to turn into a milestone. Select the milestone, and then select Task. In the Properties group, select Task Information. Select the Advanced tab, and then type the milestone duration in the Duration box. Check Mark task as milestone, and then select OK.
In the Task or View tab, click Gantt Chart in the View or Task Views section. In the View tab, click Timescale dropdown in the Zoom section and click Timescale... at the bottom.
