Rescue some puppies off the streets of Tijuana with us, and see firsthand how glamorous rescue is! 💅 It starts with lots of poop and parasites, a brand new crate getting totally annihilated, baths and more baths, dewormer and more dewormer, some tantrums, threats of calling the ASPCA (because of baths)- and it ends with the cutest cuddles you’ve seen that honestly make you forget how bad the entire thing was. This isn’t your average Halloween post, but it does involve costumes and it does involve October, so stay with me. This is the story of October, a dog who was in our care for 1,365 days with no potential home in sight. Last October, we dedicated the entire month to finding him a family. We posted him every day and hoped someone would see him for the happy, smart, goofy, and oh-so sweet, perfectly imperfect black Pittie that he is. We planned an entire costume shoot and really wanted to wow every

Meet Indi, Part 1. The 11 hour rescue mission condensed to 1 minute 30 seconds. 😅 Indi was dumped outside of a Dick’s Sporting Goods in a local mall in the middle of a stormy night. Security footage showed that she sat outside the mall entrance in the pouring rain for hours before the store opened and we were called by a supporter to help. Trying to secure her turned into quite the expedition and involved El Cajon PD and the San Diego Humane Society. Indi was terrified, but we eventually got he

November is Adopt a Senior Dog month, and we could really use your help to support one of our golden ladies. Her government name is Irie, but she goes by Little Dog, or LD. She came to us in January of this year and is a part of our Forever Foster program, because she’s a fragile old lady with a laundry list of medical issues that we have committed to loving and caring for her through. Other than your typical crusty white dog stuff, she’s got a heart condition, lumps and bumps, missing teeth, tr

Bilbo’s abuser is in court this morning awaiting sentencing as we post this, so we thought it was an appropriate time to celebrate the dog we are in awe of every day, and also give some news that we have been holding on to, wishing we didn’t have to share. Bilbo Baggins came into The Animal Pad’s care in January 2024 after he was rescued from a horrific hoarding situation with a fraudulent “rescue” for special needs dogs in Chandler, Arizona. This doesn’t even include playtime cleanup and their expenses either! I love owning ferrets but they are not the right pets for everyone and you should know what you’re getting int
